The governor’s wife also called on the Christian to reflect the purpose of Christ crucifixion, suffering, and death at Calvary.

The first lady, who is also the founder of the non-governmental organisation Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, emphasised that the solemn occasion offers a moment for reflection and spiritual renewal.

Good Friday, which falls on the Friday before Easter, is observed as a solemn Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion, suffering, and death of Jesus Christ at Calvary.

So This Happened (EP 259) review the celebration…

It is considered “good” because it marks the ultimate sacrifice for humanity’s sins, representing redemption, love, and the triumph of salvation over death.

Highlighting the spiritual significance of the day, Soludo urged Christians to imbibe the spirit of the season by fostering understanding, unity, and harmony in their communities.

She said, “Today, our saviour, Jesus Christ, is persecuted and crucified for our transgressions. But we have been saved and granted absolution by God’s greatest sacrifice of death on the cross of Calvary.

“As we await the glorious redemption, we ask God for heaven’s grace and salvation upon our families, our dear state, Anambra, and our country, Nigeria.”

She further encouraged believers to reflect on Christ’s teachings through acts of love, kindness, and forgiveness.

“As we faithfully look forward to Christ’s glorious resurrection, let’s pray for peace in our homes, love in our state, and harmony in our nation.

“Celebrate this holy day with kindness and forgiveness. And may you find the grace and divine breakthrough grow and flourish through this solemn period. Glorious Good Friday to you all,” she stated.
