Anambra govt partner PEBEC to actualize Soludo's vision 2070 agenda

As part of continue efforts to actualized governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s vision of making Anambra a destination hub of Nigeria by 2070, the State government has expressed readiness to partner with the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) to make it a reality.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, disclosed this while declaring the one-day Nationwide Town hall and State Engagement Tour meeting organized by PEBEC opened at the International Convention Center Awka, on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026.

Nnake said the partnership aimed to drive reforms that will simplify business operations in Anambra state and the South east region at large.

According to her, the PEBEC programme is fully in alignment with governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s vision of making Anambra a digital and destination hub and also to improve the state’s business climate and foster transparency between businesses and regulators.

“This programme is a repeat of what we have done in 2025 and we are fully prepared to key into it. Our major focus is to actualize governor Soludo’s vision 2070 agenda for the state. We are very much intentional about the PEBEC initiative.

“Therefore, we are calling on other relevant stakeholders, particularly, investors in Anambra State to also key into the PEBEC programme to grow and develop their investment,” the SSG concluded.

In her welcome speech, the Director General of PEBEC, Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, said the importance of the Nationwide tour to Anambra and other part of the federation was to strengthen business relationship with prospective states in fostering more conducive business environment for investors.

According to her, “Our goal is to create an enabling environment that attracts investment and drives sustainable economic growth across Nigeria by engaging directly with stakeholders in every state and also to identify challenges on the ground and collaboratively develop solutions that make doing business easier for every Nigerian.

“This ambitious programme aims to drive reforms that will simplify business operations across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) respectively.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has consistently emphasis that the Nigeria economic will not longer be determined in Abuja, it will now be determined in states, local government areas and cluster industrial cities across the country, hence the townhall meeting to brainstorm and develop a synergy with investors and other relevant stakeholder on how to actualize the President’s vision for the country.

“I commended the President whose Administration is implementing a noble and ambitious economic reforms agenda in Nigeria history.”

The DG also commended the Anambra State Government for providing a conducive almophere during the engagement.

In his remark, the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon Chukwukadibia Okoye, said the PEBEC programme will add umpire business environment in Anambra State, it will improve the ease of doing business, harmonised the ease of doing business, create access to investors, enhance business climate, reduce bottleneck in Anambra business environment, boost business confidence, improve investment promotion environment and improve investment infrastructure.

“All this according to the Commissioner, is to reinstitutionalised the state economic reforms and to ensure that Anambra emerges destination hub of Nigeria by 2070 as mapped out by the solution governor,” Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo.

Participants, in their separate remarks, described the meeting as productive.
