By Ovat Abeng

The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned one of its expelled member, Mr Arinzechukwu Awogu to stop parading himself as the state treasurer of the party or face legal action.

The party argue that the State Treasurer by Congress is Chief Izeh Vincent Okafor and not Mr. Arinze Awogu as he alleged.

They warned the public not to have anything concerning the position in common with him to avoid any misunderstanding whatsoever.

The party’s position was contained in a statement signed and made available to Journalists in Awka on Monday, June 15th, 2026 by the State APC Publicity Secretary, Chief Dr. Valentine Iyke Oliobi.

Oliobi said the party is also exonerating the State Chairman, Senator Emmanuel Anosike of all the allegations leveled against him (the state chairman) by Mr Awogu, whom the party described as confusionist, threator, power monger and a dissident full of inordinate ambitions.

The statement read in part, “The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Anambra State Chapter has been drawn to the malicious, conspicuous, and deceptive publication circulating on social media by Mr. Arinze Awogu who was expelled from the All Progressives Congress a few weeks ago for violating Article 21.5 of the All Progressives Congress Constitution as amended.

“And if not for clarity purposes, one would have just ignored him, but to keep the records straight thus: “That Mr. Arinze Awogu was never elected as the State Treasurer of APC Anambra State Chapter and has never been the State Treasurer.  Mr. Awogu joined the APC during the last gubernatorial election through a support group known as IKEMBA FRONT.

“That the State Treasurer of the party by Congress is Chief Izeh Vincent Okafor, a renowned Banker of high repute and not Mr. Arinze Awogu as he alleged.

“That Mr. Arinze Awogu was elected as the Zonal Chairman of APC Anambra North in the last APC Anambra State Congress and Hon. Bright Olisaemeka is presently acting in that capacity since his expulsion from the party.

“That Arinze Awogu has no locus standi to interfere into APC internal affairs because he is no longer a member of the party having been duly expelled according to the party constitution for violating Article 21.5 of the All Progressives Congress Constitution as amended.

“That, any money contributed to the APC Anambra State is well taken care of and accounted for accordingly. It is worthy of note that the funds received by the party for congresses, conventions, meetings, and other party activities were utilized strictly for the said purposes for which they were released and in accordance with decisions of the appropriate organs of the party.

“That, all the party delegates to the Southeast Zonal and National Conventions who were officially invited and their names on the list for the purpose of the Zonal and National Conventions got their entitlements accordingly even some of the uninvited people were equally compensated, notwithstanding the fact that it is not all comers affairs.

“That the State Chairman Sen. Emma Anosike did not create any faction as alleged by the expelled Mr. Arinze Awogu. It is noteworthy that by convention, the LG Chairman of Ogbaru is Mr. Arinze Nzeli and till date, he is still the LG Chairman of the party in Ogbaru Local Government, just that Mr. Awogu wanted to lord himself over Mr. Arinze Nzeli who resisted him, hence his plans to remove Mr. Nzeli who who duly elected as the Ogbaru LG party Chairman by congresses.

“Mr. Arinze Awogu is simply delusional and power intoxicates him. He fought while in APGA because of money. He fought the founder of IKEMBA FRONT because of money and hijacked the structure from him. Now, he is fighting the State Chairman of our great party because of money as he alleged.

“For transparency and accountability, the APC Anambra State Chapter has accounts in Zenith Bank and UBA, respectively, and the state chairman can not spend a dime without due process. Every expenditure must pass through a voucher and receive approval before the State Treasurer releases money for any program/event.

“That on behalf of the All Progressives Congress Anambra State Chapter, we wish to exonerate our amiable and ever focused State Chairman, Most Distinguished Sen Emma Obiajulu Anosike of all the allegations leveled against him as contained in his deceptive publication targeted to malign the the hard earned personality of a former House of Representatives Member and a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who condescending himself for a better APC Anambra State.

“We also warn Mr. Arinze Awogu to desist from his usual ways of inordinacies and mind his business or face legal actions,” the statement concluded.
