Soludo a gift to Anambra - ASTUC Youth President, Okoli

The President of Anambra State Town Union Council (ASTUC) Youth Wing, Comrade Ken Okoli has described governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo as a rare gift to the State and Nigeria as a whole via his unprecedented projects across the 179 communities that constitute the state.

Okoli who address a press conference at the Royal Paradise Hotel Awka, on Thursday, July 9th, 2026, as part of activities to mark his 49th birthday, commended Soludo’s development strides and innovation in the past 4-year, expressing the ASTUC’s continued support and partnership to further develop the creative potentials of the state and initiatives of the governor.

“I can tell you unequivocally, that governor Soludo’s administrative performance in all sectors of the economic has completely distinguished him from his predecessors.

“What the governor has done in all the sectors “The ongoing “One Youth Two Skills empowerment programme, construction of a new government house (Light House Awka), the recruitment of over 8,000 teachers, recruitment of over 600 health workers, establishment of smart schools, introduction of free education, free healthcare delivery services, employment of indigenes and non-indigenes as cabinet members, leadership training for youth leaders of the 179 communities, establishment of Solution Fun City, Awka City Stadium, the newly constructed Amawbia/Nise/Agulu/Nanka/Ekwulobia/Uga dualised road with a flyover at Ekwulobia, Agulu/Niobi/Nnewi/Ozubulu/Ihemosi dualised road and other numerous innovation projects will be remembered in the trajectory of Nigeria, when the history of Nigeria is written. It is something that is 96 percent worth commendable.

“Governor Soludo has charted a path for other governors, especially, his south east counterpart to follow.

The governor’s transformational agenda for a better Anambra State was built on five points agenda designed to build a prosperous and livable smart megacity by 2070.

“These include:Security, Law and Order, Infrastructure and Economic Transformation, Human Capital and Social Agenda, aimed at restoring peace, eliminating criminal elements, and enforcing a strict rule of law to ensure a safe environment for residents and investors, Okoli stated.

Speaking further, ASTUC Youth President said his vision on earth is to deepen the core values of Anambra State, through Youth Development and Involvement in governance which is his area of specialisation in life.

He highlighted some of his leadership achievements to include review of the constitution that came into existence since 2013,to be in line with modern realities on ground by broadening the structure to 22 persons in each of the communities multiplied by 179 instead of the previous 179 persons alone. He added that he  segmented the youths into 5 different categories of membership such as the Youth Leaders, Direct Membership,Associate Membership, Affiliate Membership and Honorary Membership.

“In addition to the  aforementioned achievements, Okoli said he made ASTUC Youth not to depend on government or anybody for financial assistance,but rather become self-sustainable and be able to organize programmes without necessarily going from one house or the other to raise funds, adding that their programmes are strategically driven to attract funds to them.

He said that he has also carried out leadership trainings and summit for the youth leaders of the 179 communities in Anambra State, stressing that the essence of it is to equip them with the necessary leadership skills that would help them to discharge their duties effectively and efficiently, knowing full well that other youths are looking up to them.

He emphasized that he made sure that the vision he came with was contained in the Constitution of ASTUC Youth Wing during the review process.

On his 49th Birthday celebration, Okoli expressed gratitude to God’s continue protection of his life, members of his family, ASTUC family and Anambra state at large.
