Prominent legal practitioner and Director-General of the Good Governance Advocacy Initiative (GGAI), Sir Leonard Anyogo, has called on the people of Alifokpa community to intensify their efforts against drug abuse, engage actively in the electoral process, and maintain high security consciousness.
Speaking during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting hosted at his Anyogo’s Resort residence, he urged residents to collaborate with the government of His Excellency, Senator Bassey Otu, in a unified drive to accelerate the development of the region.
Community members present expressed deep gratitude to the legal sage for his relentless advocacy and for consistently fostering a sense of inclusion and unity within the locality. During the interactive session, community representatives also appealed to the state government to expedite action on crucial infrastructure projects, specifically mentioning the construction of the Akreha Bridge and the Alifokpa Road.

Following the general stakeholders’ assembly, Sir Anyogo convened a separate closed-door meeting with the Catholic Parish Priest of Matter Ecclesiae Parish, Rev. Fr. Raphael Mose, in Alifokpa, Yache, Yala Local Government Area. The two leaders engaged in fruitful deliberations centered on combating substance abuse and fostering rural development through community-led initiatives.
Speaking on his long-term vision for the community, Anyogo affirmed that these outreach initiatives are part of a broader, phased strategy.
“This engagement will eventually be extended to the entire ward and local government area in our continuous efforts toward sustainable peace and regional development,” he stated.
