Nigeria At 66: Amb. Soni Abang Congratulates Tinubu, Otu, Lauds Calabar Seaport Upgrade

As Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, the Cross River State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Amb. Soni Abang, has joined leaders and citizens across the nation to celebrate the country’s enduring unity, resilience, and sovereignty.

In a statement released on Thursday on behalf of the Cross River State team of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Amb. Abang reflected on the nation’s journey over the past six decades, describing the milestone as a testament to the collective strength and perseverance of the Nigerian people.

“This grand milestone is a compelling reminder of our collective duty as a people to foster unity, deepen patriotism and renew our commitment to building the Nigeria of our dreams,” Abang stated. “It has been 66 years of resilience, perseverance, sacrifice and indivisibility. This year’s celebration is particularly significant as it calls for sustained collaboration among Nigerians to consolidate our gains.”

He particularly commended the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his visionary leadership, highlighting a major infrastructural victory for the South-South region – the approval to upgrade the Calabar Seaport.

Expressing his gratitude for the historic project, Abang noted, “I particularly celebrate Mr. President on the historic approval for the upgrade of the Calabar Seaport to deepen and expand maritime activities in the region. This bold step will unlock vast economic opportunities and drive prosperity.”

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ Coordinator also extended warm congratulations to the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, praising his administration’s strides and dedication to the state’s development. He commended Otu for “his relentless and purposeful leadership in repositioning our dear state.”

Amb. Abang also extended heartfelt anniversary wishes to the entire nation, reaffirming the commitment of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to the unity and progress of the country.

“On behalf of the Cross River State team of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, I congratulate all Nigerians on this epoch-making celebration of our freedom, sovereignty and unity,” he said. “Happy Independence anniversary to our great motherland, Nigeria. Hurray!”
