Amb. Soni Abang Leads C'River Delegation to South-South ‘Renewed Hope’ Strategy Summit in Asaba

The Cross River State Chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) has successfully concluded a high-level, two-day communications and strategic summit in Asaba, Delta State, aimed at intensifying grassroots mobilization for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The conference, themed: “One Party, One Message, One Mobilization,” ran from March 23rd to 24th, 2026. It brought together key stakeholders from across the South-South region to streamline communication and amplify the federal government’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

The summit served as a capacity-building workshop for State and local government coordinators. The primary goal was to equip these leaders with the tools to translate complex federal policies into relatable successes for citizens at the ward level in Cross River, Delta, Edo, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa States.

Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the South-South Zonal Coordinator of the RHA and former Governor of Delta State, welcomed delegates by emphasizing the importance of discipline and leadership. He listed several key pillars of the current administration’s reforms such as subsidy restructuring and Naira stabilization, financial autonomy for LGAs and the NELFUND student loan scheme, boosts in non-oil revenue and improved allocations to sub-national governments.

“The RHA agenda is about fixing Nigeria’s economy and laying the foundation for sustainable growth,” Senator Okowa stated.

“We will continue to push the message of the President on restructuring the future using key pointers such as the enhanced ease-of-doing business rating, improved allocations to the third tier of government and many other reforms”, he noted.

Senator Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State and Director-General of the RHA, reminded delegates of their role as “community translators.” He noted that the success of the administration’s reforms depends heavily on public understanding and community engagement.

“Reforms cannot be appreciated until the people are made aware of the improvements. As Ambassadors, we must amplify citizen engagement to defend and mobilize support for this vision”, Uzodinma remarked.

The Cross River State delegation was led by the State Coordinator, Amb. Soni Abang, who has been instrumental in driving the RHA’s communication strategy across the state. The delegation include Dr. Peter Ojie, Hon. Oden Ewa, Prof. Stephen Odey, Hon. Ani Esin, the 18 LGA Coordinators and the support team.

The summit featured interactive question and answer sessions and stakeholder engagements designed to consolidate political support ahead of future electoral cycles.

Other notable dignitaries in attendance were the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori; Chairman of the occasion, Senator Dayo Adeyeye; Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, APC South-South Zonal Vice Chairman, Chief Victor Giadom, National Publicity Secretary of the APC Sir Felix Morka, Chief Olisa Metuh, Senators, members of the House of Representatives, House of Assembly members and other interest parties.
