The funeral Mass for Bishop David O’Connell has been set for 11 a.m. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles stated on Thursday that the date is Friday, March 3.
The funeral Mass will be held in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, where Bishop O’Connell will be available for public viewing the day before on Thursday, March 2, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
There will be a Vigil Mass for Bishop O’Connell at the Cathedral on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.’
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Hacienda Heights on March 1 as part of the San Gabriel Pastoral Region, which Bishop O’Connell administered as the region’s episcopal vicar. Since his passing on February 18, prayer vigils have been held every night at the parish, where Bishop O’Connell lived nearby.
