Mississippi State’s Shea Moreno, right, celebrates with third base coach Tyler Bratton after a three-run home run in the fifth inning Saturday against Kentucky.

The Bulldogs hit a Southeastern Conference game record five home runs with two of them coming from seniors and defeated the Kentucky Wildcats 12-6 in a weather-shortened six-inning game.

Senior Shea Moreno hit a grand slam to give MSU a 7-6 lead in the fifth inning, then classmate Jackie McKenna unloaded on a two-run blast in the sixth to help provide a cushion.

The Bulldogs, who improved to 26-22 overall and 5-14 in the SEC, have now captured the series against the No. 20 Wildcats by winning the first two games and head coach Samantha Ricketts was glad to see the seniors leading the charge.
