Bulldogs part ways with pitching coach Foxhall

The Bulldogs began slipping over the last two seasons from the pitching staff that was instrumental in helping the team to the first national championship in 2021.

MSU is currently ranked No. 206 in Division I in terms of team earned run average. In the last two Southeastern Conference series for the Bulldogs, the offense has been there for the most part, but the pitching has not as they have been outscored 57-40. MSU was just swept by Tennessee by losing the games 8-7, 12-8 and 13-2.

During his career, Foxhall had been a part of 10 NCAA Tournament team appearances. He was in the middle of his 29th season.

The American Baseball Coaches Association had recognized Foxhall as its assistant coach of the year after the Bulldogs captured the national title.

Although Foxhall enjoyed some great moments at MSU, it was the apparent performance lately that led to his dismissal.
