Cold case slay solved 30 years after 15-year-old NYC girl found strangled with her own bra : ‘Mother’s worst nightmare’ (EXCLUSIVE)

The cold case murder of a 15-year-old Queens girl found more than 30 years ago strangled with her own bra has been solved, the Daily News has learned.

Jerry Lewis, 58, was arraigned on murder charges Monday in Queens Criminal Court, accused of killing Nadine Slade in Far Rockaway on May 7, 1992.

But Slade put up a fight and last year DNA found under her preserved fingernail clippings was linked to her neighbor Lewis — now living in Shawsville, Va., according to prosecutors.

Lewis lived in a two-family home on Birdsall Ave. near Beach Channel Drive — and Nadine’s family sometimes stayed in the other apartment. The teen was found by her mother naked strangled with her bra in a bathroom shared by both apartments.

“Any mother’s worst nightmare is to survive a child,” Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

“To lose a child in such a horrific way causes unimaginable pain. Not knowing who committed the crime compounds the suffering. In the end, we hope to achieve justice for Nadine and bring closure and some measure of solace to her bereaved mother.”

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
