Erykah Badu announces 25-arena tour, hitting Madison Square Garden July 8
Erykah Badu is coming New York this summer on her latest tour.
The Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter will headline a concert in Manhattan this July with hip-hop superstar yasiin bey (formerly known as Mos Def) as a special guest.
Announced Monday, the 25-city “Unfollow Me Tour” includes a Madison Square Garden gig on July 8.
It’s the first North American trek for Badu since 2021, when she performed in several theaters around the country as pandemic protocols started to ease. Last year, the “On & On” chanteuse performed during the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! event at Lena Horne Bandshell at Prospect Park.
Produced by independent promoter Outback Presents, the tour will kick off in San Antonio, Texas on June 11 and will also include stops in Denver, Boston and more. “Unfollow Me” is currently scheduled to wrap up on July 23, in the eccentric artist’s hometown of Dallas.
Badu, who appeared in the March issue of Vogue magazine, has released five studio albums, a live opus and the 2015 mixtape “But You Caint Use My Phone.”
