Lady Chargers hold on for win in playoff game
ACKERMAN – After building a healthy lead in the fourth inning, the Lady Chargers had a 4-0 lead dwindle down to one run. That’s when sophomore pitcher Presley Scarbrough dug down deep for her team.
Scarbrough put up back-to-back zeros and struck out the Lady Dragons for the final out of the game with the tying run on second. It led to a 4-3 win and game one in the second round series.
She might be a sophomore, but Scarbrough is making a name for herself and pitching like a veteran. In the win, Scarbrough delivered a strong seven innings, scattered seven hits and four walks while giving up the three runs in the fifth inning and she struck out 12 batters.
