Met Officers arrested after woman ‘kidnapped and raped’

The woman said she was kidnapped from Kingston on Sunday, April 30, before being raped.

Two serving Met officers, who have not be named, have been arrested along with a third man who is not a police officer. 

The first Police Constable was arrested on suspicion of kidnap, rape and common assault. 

He was bailed until June in relation to the rape and was released without further action in relation to the other alleged offences. 

The second Police Constable was arrested on suspicion of kidnap and possession of class A drugs. He has since been released without further action. 

Both officers, who are based in the North West Command Unit, have been suspended. 

The third man was arrested on suspicion of kidnap and was released without further action. 

A Met Police spokesperson said: “The arrests relate to an incident that occurred on Sunday, 30 April and began in Kingston. The officers were off duty at the time. A woman is being supported by specially trained officers. 
 
“The Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed and a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.”
