A large crowd of enthusiastic supporters estimated at over 2,000 gathered in Calabar South on Saturday, April 4, 2026, as the Nigeria Diaspora Business Network, USA (NDBN-USA), in collaboration with Pillar of Equity, hosted a Grand Mega Rally in support of the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Prince Bassey Otu, and Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong.
The high-energy event, held at Government Primary School, Mayne Avenue, drew political stakeholders, party faithful, community leaders, and members of the public who turned out in large numbers to demonstrate solidarity and confidence in the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a strong show of political alignment, the NDBN-USA formally endorsed the trio of President Tinubu, Governor Otu, and Senator Ekpenyong, citing their leadership, reforms, and commitment to sustainable development as key reasons for their support.

Speaking at the rally, His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, represented by Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, expressed appreciation to the diaspora community and grassroots supporters for their commitment.
“This overwhelming show of support is a clear testament that our people believe in continuity, progress, and purposeful leadership. We are working tirelessly to ensure that Cross River South benefits from impactful legislation, infrastructure development, and economic opportunities. Together, we will sustain the gains already recorded and build a future of prosperity for our people,” Senator Ekpenyong stated.
Senator Ekpenyong highlighted several achievements of the present government such as the ongoing construction of major roads such as Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Idundu road leading to Akpabuyo, Uyanga Road leading to Ehom at Akamkpa, Oban- Ekang Road and the Adiabo Eseku Road by the Cross River State Government.
The President of NDBN-USA, Mr. Ekeng Henshaw, in his goodwill message, emphasized the strategic role of the Nigerian diaspora in driving economic growth and political stability.
“As a network of global investors and professionals, we have critically assessed the trajectory of leadership at both the federal and state levels. We are confident that President Tinubu’s reforms, Governor Otu’s economic vision, and Senator Ekpenyong’s legislative strides are positioning Nigeria and Cross River State on the path of sustainable development. Our endorsement reflects our belief in continuity, stability, and long-term growth,” Henshaw said.
He further highlighted that the diaspora community remains committed to mobilizing capital, expertise, and international partnerships to support development initiatives across Nigeria.
The rally featured vibrant displays of party loyalty, music, and coordinated support from various women groups, special people with disability reinforcing the APC’s grassroots strength in Cross River State.
