The 9-year-old girl who was shot and murdered Sunday during a “domestic-related” home invasion in the southwest suburban Bolingbrook has been identified by authorities.
According to the Bolingbrook police department and the DuPage County Coroner’s Office, Sania Daniels was one of four people who were shot at the home in the 100 block of Lee Lane around 8:15 p.m. on Sunday. As the young woman was transported to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital’s emergency room, she subsequently passed away from her wounds, according to the police.
Samiya A. Shelton-Tillman, 17, and Cartez L. Daniels, 40, were both declared dead at the scene, according to authorities.

A woman who was the fourth shooting victim was transferred to the hospital, where her status was reported as stable, according to the police.
Byrion Montgomery, 17, was brought into custody, according to Bolingbrook police chief Mike Rompa on Monday evening. Nine counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder, one count each of home invasion, aggravated battery with a firearm, and aggravated unauthorised use of a weapon have been brought against him, according to the police.
According to investigators, Montgomery had a relationship with one of the females who died in the incident. Shelton-Tillman was the girl, according to the police.
Police stated that the inquiry is still open.
