Starkville Academy sends several track athletes to state meet

The Starkville Academy track qualifiers for the MAIS Class 5A State meet are for the boys Quinton Wiley, from left, Alex Friedhaber, Graham Hancock, Wyatt Buice, Ben Lyle, Beckett Lesley, Ben Smith, and of the girls Abby Winston, from left, Rylee Fisher, Zaidee Wall and Emily Paige Fuller. Friedhaber is not the only Volunteer qualified in multiple events for the state meet.

Starkville Academy also has Quinton Wiley in the long jump, the 400-meter dash, the 4×200 meter relay and 4×400 meter relay, Ben Lyle in the 100-meter dash and 200 meter dash, Ben Smith in the 800-meter run and 4×400 relay, Wyatt Buice in the 4×100 and 4×200 meter relays, Rylee Fisher in the high jump and 4×200 meter relay, Abby Winston in the long jump and 4×200 meter relay, Rett Keenum in the high jump, Graham Hancock in the 4×100 meter relay, Beckett Lesley in the 4×100 meter relay, Emily Paige Fuller in the 4×200 meter relay and Zaidee Wall in the 4×200 meter relay.

Having so many Volunteers make it to state is just a testament to their hard work in the mind of head coach Sam Wright.
