IT House reported on May 1 that as the time came to the first day of May, many new energy vehicle manufacturers announced the number of new vehicle deliveries last month. Among them, Weilai Automobile delivered a total of 6,658 vehicles to consumers in April, while Jikr Automobile delivered a total of 8,101 vehicles to consumers.
Yang Xueliang, senior vice president of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, commented on the sales of Jikr cars surpassing Weilai:“Whether it’s Jikrypton or Weilai, Chinese luxury pure electric brands must have someone who can play BBA.”
Although in the domestic market, the traditional luxury car brand “BBA” still maintains a strong dominance. However, with the development of the wave of new energy vehicles, the gap between “BBA” and domestic auto brands is constantly narrowing. Especially in the new energy vehicle market, many auto brands such as Jikrypton, Weilai, and Ideal have achieved good market sales.
According to previous reports from IT House, the total sales volume of the global luxury car market in 2022 will be 3.09 million vehicles, an increase of about 6% compared to 2021. but,Among them, the traditional luxury car market as a whole has dropped by about 4%, while the new energy luxury car market has increased by 49% year-on-year.
At the same time, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi, which once accounted for 75% of China’s luxury car market, will all experience sales declines in 2022, with declines of 0.9%, 6.4% and 9.3% respectively.
