Muslim faithful have been urged to always pray for peace and unity of the country, especially, ahead of the 2027 general election.
The leader of the Hausa Community in Anambra State, Alhaji Garba Haruna gave the charge during this year’s 2026;Eid Al Filtr celebration in Awka, the Anambra State Capital.
Speaking after their morning prayer held at the Amawbia recreation field in Awka South Local Government, on Friday, to mark the celebration, Alhaji Haruna who said that the celebration is to mark the end of fasting in the month of Ramadan, urged Muslims in the state and Nigeria at large to continue to show love to one another, be tolerant and pray fervently for the leaders of Nigeria.
“I am appealing to Nigeria Muslim Ummah irrespective of tribe and ethnic affiliations to pray for social, economy and political stability of the country.
Nigeria want peace to strengthen its togetherness.
Therefore, I passionately urged Nigeria politicians as the 2027: general elections approaches, not to make it a do-or-die affairs for the sake of democracy.
Haruna pray to God to continue to guide governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, as he begins his second term journey.
The South East leader of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), Alhaji Gidado Sidikki, on his part, charged Muslims to use the celebration to show love, eschew anything that will breed rancour and unrest in the county and prayed for Governor Soludo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for them to excel in their administrations.
A large turnout of Muslim faithful was witnessed during the praying session.
