In an unbiased online vote asking people to pick an aspirant of their choice posted in four Facebook timelines, High Chief Henry Onwe has emerged the clear winner among six aspirants for the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency House of Representatives position.
The vote featured six prominent sons of Yala Local Government Area, the local government that is slated to present a candidate for the position.
The online vote which did not indicate any political party had : Dr Julius Okputu, Barrister Godwin Offiono, the incumbent, Hon. Chief Jude Ngaji, High Chief Henry Onwe, Hon Mike Usibe and Mr Francis Ekpo.

A total of one hundred and and eight persons, mostly from the two local government areas that constitute the constituency, Ogoja and Yala participated in the vote.
In the vote, Chief Henry Onwe pulled 73 votes, followed by Barrister Godwin Offiono with 14 votes, Hon Jude Ngaji had 9 votes, Dr Julius Okputu 5 votes while Hon Mike Usibe had 4 and Francis Ekpo, 3 votes respectively.
The voters made very interesting comments before expressing their opinion through their votes and most of the comments clearly expressed their love for the aspirant of their choice.
This vote may clearly have expressed the pattern and choice of the people for the position in the coming 2027 election as it relates to the Reps seat for the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency.
As we progress into the election, the coming days shall be very interesting.
