“After a long wait, negotiation and consultation, the Iroko, Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo has thrown his hat in the ring. Having waited for over three years, he is now ready and prepared for the race,” the statement reads in part.

Dansuki, who spent 12 years in the National Assembly, is being projected by his supporters as a candidate with deep legislative experience and national-level connections considered critical for effective representation.

According to the statement, experience within the National Assembly plays a vital role in attracting development projects and influencing policy outcomes.

“In the National Assembly, connections and experience are key. Your years in the Assembly count, as they place you in a position to attract valuable projects to your constituency,” the statement added.

Political stakeholders in the district have increasingly emphasized the need for representation that combines experience, accessibility, and a strong understanding of grassroots realities, ossues that have continued to shape the discourse ahead of the 2027 elections.

Supporters of the former lawmaker also framed his emergence as part of a broader call for balance and fairness in representation across the senatorial district.

“Dansuki needs the support of all of us to achieve this victory because his victory is a victory for equity, power balance and fairness,” the statement concluded.
