The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has commended governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for ensuring a peaceful, credible and transparent primary election in Anambra State, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The National Chairman of the Primary Elections Committee, Victor Agunzi (SAN), commended the governor while briefing journalists at the Party’s Regional Headquarters Awka, on Tuesday night, shortly after announcing the winners of the 3 Senatorial, 11 House of Representatives and 30 State House of Assembly party tickets ahead of the general elections.
He said the peaceful process reflects wishes of members of the party across the 326 wards that constitute the state.
Agunzi urged other governors in Nigeria to emulate governor Soludo’s managerial style of leadership in APGA and Anambra State.as a whole.

He declared winners of the Saturday May 23rd, 2026 Senate, House of Representative and the State House of Assembly primary election as follows;
For the three Senatorial slots
“Senator Stella Oduah (Anambra North Senatorial District)
“Senator Emmanuel Nwachukwu (Anambra South Senatorial District) and “Hon Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo (Anambra Central Senatorial District)
For the 11 House of Representative tickets, the chairman declared Mr Obi Nwankwo winner of Awka North/South Federal Constituency.
“Prince Chukwudi Oli (Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency)
“Hon Chinedu Obidigwe (Anambra East/West Federal Constituency).
“Dr Chukwueze Aforbike (Aguata Federal Constituency)
“Mr Ikenna Obuneme (Idemili North/South Federal Constituency)
“Anthony Nweze Nwora (Onitsha North/South Federal Constituency)
“Dr Odira Nwankwo (Orumba North/South Federal Constituency)
Chief Vincent Obi (“Nnewi North/South/Ekwisigo Federal Constituency)
“Hon Oyemma Chukwuma Wilfred (Ogbaru Federal Constituency)
“Rt Hon Pascal Agbodike (Ihiala Federal Constituency) and for Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency, the incumbent house of representative member, Hon Maureen Gwacham was declared the winner of the party’s ticket for her second term race for the green chamber of the National Assembly Abuja, Nigeria.
The committee equally announced the 30 successful party candidates for the State House of Assembly tickets including the incumbent speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Hon Somtochukwu Udeze who is contesting for the 4th time representing Ogbaru 2 State Constituency.
Speaking further, the Chairman noted that the process was conducted in line with the party’s guidelines.
He said that the successful candidates satisfied all requirements of the party and the electoral guidelines, adding that they recorded the highest number of valid votes to emerged victorious in the contest.
According to him, the primaries were conducted across the state under party supervision, with officials describing the exercise as orderly and largely free, fair and peaceful.
“The exercise was rancour free, fair and seamless.
“This press conference has brought to the close of the 2026 primary election our great party ahead of the 2027 general elections in Nigeria, which has been widely adjudge across the state to be peaceful, credible and transparent, in which at this point, we specifically Commended the National Working Committee of the party headed by Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa and the National leader of the party, governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for ensuring a conducive environment and also for making the entire exercise free and credible, devoid of any interference of whatsoever. He has indeed demonstrated that he is a true democrat and we commended him for that and we do hope other political leaders in Nigeria would emulate his leadership attitude.
Agunzi appealed to party’ members including those that could not make the list to keep the past behind and work together to ensure APGA wins all legislative seats in the state come 2027 general elections.
