COV-OPTICS Eye Hospital has opened it South East Nigeria Headquarters in Awka, Anambra State, bringing affordable eye care, on-site optical services to residents and professionals in the region.
The new hospital is located along the popular old INEC road Okpuno-Awka, and offers comprehensive services for all ages.
The Awka’s newest eye care destination is equipped with advanced diagnostic equipment and staffed by a team of experienced eye specialists focused on comfort and clinical excellence.
Speaking during the unveiling, the Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of COV-Optics Eye Hospital, Dr Chika Oranuka, while announcing a two weeks free eye-check services to residents of Awka and it environ, said the hospital would provide a trusted service to the people of Anambra State and the entire South East region that has made COV-OPTICS Eye Hospital a household name across the country.
“Our goal is to make eye care accessible and convenient so that early detection and treatment become the norm, not the exception.
“This facility is to enhance the availability of eye care services to the Igbo nation and Nigeria as a whole, and I am also dedicating the edifice in memory of my late father, late Chief Christopher Sunday Oranuka, for motivating me to this height.
“We started operation in Anambra State four years ago with a micro-rented apartment but today we are glad owning this edifice to the glory of Almighty God and to the support of humanity.
“We will make eye treatment more affordable to our people, especially, the vulnerable ones in the society. We are operating in International best standard.
“Our Services include: Routine and comprehensive eye exams (adult & paediatric), Diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic eye disease, and other conditions, sales of eye equipments, prescription glasses and contact lens fittings; on-site optical dispensary, Children’s and teenagers’ eye care, including vision screenings, preventive screenings to protect long-term vision, among others.
“We are seeking the partnership of Anambra State/Nigeria governments, corporate organizations and concern individuals in all ramifications to enable us offer effective service to the needy.
“This opening follows years of our successful service here in Awka, the Anambra State Capital, where COV-OPTICS Eye Hospital has built a reputation for modern facility and patient-centred care,” Dr Oranuka concluded.
He commended the Anambra State governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo for making Health sector, major priority of his administration.
The unveiling also has in attendance, top government functionaries, health experts, religion leaders, security personnel, thousands of eye patients, former Commissioner for Homeland affairs in Anambra State, Chief Chikodi Anara and the media.
