The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Women Mobilisation Directorate has announced the activation of grassroots structures across 176,846 communities as part of its strategy for the 2027 general elections.
Over the past month, women’s groups in states including Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kwara, Abia, and Rivers have held action meetings and engagements aimed at building a sustained grassroots presence. The Directorate noted that these structures will maintain contact with households, encouraging women and other eligible voters to actively participate in the electoral process.
According to Dr. Betta Edu, Director of Women Mobilisation for the PCC, working under the guidance of First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the initiative is designed to connect government policies with the economic realities of women. Sensitisation activities have recently taken place in communities such as Afaka Ward in Kaduna, Kemanji Ward in Kwara, and Dutse in Jigawa.

The mobilisation effort aims to go beyond campaign rallies and election-day logistics. The Directorate emphasised its focus on helping women access opportunities and relevant interventions under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Dr. Edu highlighted key sectors for these opportunities, including transportation, enterprise development, agriculture, energy, and the Renewed Hope Initiative. Additionally, she pointed to the planned expansion of the National Affordable CNG Transit Programme as a measure that could benefit women relying on public transport.
The Directorate affirmed that nationwide grassroots engagements will continue as part of efforts to share practical information on initiatives affecting household incomes and to mobilise support for the administration ahead of the 2027 polls.
