The National Leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has called on the Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress NDC, to stop destroying a political party that made him who he is today in Nigeria political space.
The party made the call in a statement signed and made available to Journalists in Awka on Tuesday, by its National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, PhD.
The statement read; “The National Leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has observed with keen interest recent political developments that require clarity and firm guidance for our teeming members.

“To properly situate the issues, we wish to pose a few pertinent questions:
“If Mr. Peter Obi so loved APGA, why has he fought so hard against APGA in every electoral cycle?
“For every seat APGA is contesting, why does Mr. Peter Obi has a lineup of candidates waiting to push APGA away?
“APGA made Peter Obi, yet Peter Obi wants to destroy APGA. Why?
“Arising from the foregoing, we wish to state with every sense of responsibility as follows:
“A vote for Peter Obi and the NDC is a vote to kill APGA.
“Since 2014, Mr. Peter Obi has had one mission — to destroy the Party that made him. In 2025, while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stood with APGA, Peter Obi backed the opposition to bury us. Just like he did in 2017 and 2021.
“There is no formal or informal consultation or agreement between APGA and NDC for power-sharing. As of today, the NDC is merely a Special Purpose Vehicle, while APGA is a Political Party of Record.
“APGA’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not only predicated on the unwritten convention that the Party collaborates with the Party at the center. It is more fundamentally anchored on the fact that President Tinubu has demonstrated utmost good faith in the infrastructural development of the Southeast, more than any other government since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999. This is absolutely factual and verifiable.
“We therefore urge our members not to be deceived by a man who abandoned the Party when it needed him most and has continued to treat political parties as mere Special Purpose Vehicles to be used and dumped at will. This too is very much verifiable.
“We reiterate that Anambra is APGA. It remains in our best interest to defend our fortress,” Opara concluded.
