The wife of Anambra State governor and the founder of Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, Dr Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has urged Nigerians to embrace peace, kindness and dialogue in resolving differences to build a peaceful society.
Mrs Soludo, made the call on Friday in a message to mark the 2026 International Day of Non-Violence.
The Day is themed: “Non-Violence as a means to Peace and Development”.

The International Day of Non-Violence is marked annually on October 2 to honour the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and spread his message of peace.
She said that peace began with individual choices, words and the way people treated one another.
“May we always raise a generation that chooses dialogue over conflict, kindness over cruelty and love over violence.
“A peaceful society is a responsibility we all share. Choose peace first always,” she said.
She urged individuals to make peaceful conduct a priority in their daily interactions, stressing the need for collective responsibility in promoting a violence-free society.
