Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command attached to B Division, Amansea, in Awka North Local Government Area, has arrested a 16-year old male suspected accomplice, Udochukwu Nwankwo, in connection with an alleged armed robbery incident in the Amansea area.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga who disclosed this in a statement in Awka on Wednesday, said the arrest took place in the early hours of today, 2nd September 2026, during a security patrol.
He said the operatives also recovered a shiny metallic lighter designed in the semblance of a pistol, which the suspect allegedly used to threaten and dispossess the victim of her valuables.

According to Ikenga, “Preliminary information revealed that the suspect, alongside two other accomplices who are currently at large, allegedly attacked a guest at a hotel in the area and snatched her mobile phone and other personal belongings.
“During interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to using the recovered object to threaten victims during the robbery.
“Following the development, the Command has intensified investigation and ongoing efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects, recover the stolen phone and other valuables, and bring all those found culpable to justice.”
