Sen Nwachukwu 6-months representation too small to showcase scorecard - Anambra South APGA stakeholders replies critics

Stakeholders from the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA extraction in Anambra South Senatorial District, has urged members of the party to disregard any rumour criticizing the performance of the Senator representing the district at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly Abuja, Senator Emmanuel Nwachukwu.

They argue that Senator Nwachukwu six months representation was still too small for him to begin showcasing achievements. He should be allowed to continue in 2027 to enable him do in a massive and constructive way.

The stakeholders made their position known during the Senator’s Thanksgiving Mass/Interactive meeting with APGA members across the zone, held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church field Ukpor, in Nnewi South Local Government Area of the State, on Friday, April 17th, 2026.

It was gathered that Senator Nwachukwu was elected during the August 15th, 2025 by-election in the zone, compromises, Aguata, Ihiala, Ekwisigo, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Orumba North and Orumba South Local Government Areas of the State to filled the vacancy of late Senator Patrick Ifeamyi Ubah at the Senate, and ever since he was admitted into the Senate, the Senator has been on the performance watchlist of his critics.

Some of the stakeholders, including the formal National Vice Chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Demian Okeke Ogene, Senator Nwachukwu’s Campaign Director General, Chief CY Okereke, former Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Chief Emeka Sibudo, APGA vice chairman Anambra South, Hon Surplus Ezewuzie, Hon Kingsley Iruba and the Managing Director of Orton Palace Hotel Ekwulobia, Chief Titus Anigbogu, who spoke further in an interview with Journalists, appealed to the people to be patient, insisting that Senator Nwachukwu is legislating very well.

According to them, rating the Senator’s six-months performance in the Senate as ‘poor’ is very uncalled for, amidst political and socio-economic instability in the country.

“Senator Nwachukwu has done the little one he could within the period under review and we, the stakeholders of the party in the zone are plead with his representation and which is why we all assembled here today to show solidarity with him as our representative.

Nwachukwu remain the only person who can champion the curse of APGA at the floor of the Senate. He is the only person who can sustain the legacies of governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo in Anambra South Senatorial District and the state at large. He is a man of integrity with vast knowledge in administration.

“Six months representation is too small for people to begin to demand for his  scorecard showcasing.

“The six months is like a school curse for him to study the laws, motions and constituency projects his predecessor, late Ifeamyi Ubah has put in place before his unfortunate passing.

“The complimentary effort he has made in collaboration with the state government in the area of security through constant stakeholders engagement meetings has yielded positive result in Anambra South Senatorial District compared to eight months ago before his emergence.

“We are satisfied with his representation, therefore, we are appealing to residents of Anambra South irrespective of tribe, ethnic, religion and political affiliations to continue to support and pray for him to succeed and to enable him execute his electoral promised.

Senator Nwachukwu while addressing the party executives, stakeholders and other thousands of APGA supporters, assured more quality, effective representation and more contributions to the zone, the state and national development.

He said he is currently making laws and executive effort to address the ecological challenges the people of Anambra South are facing, noting that the zone has 31 dangerous erosion sites distorting the grow and development of the Senatorial District.

He said he has written to the President,  Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the President has promised to act as soon as possible.

He appealed to the people, especially, APGA supporters to continue to work in unity and pray for him to enable him execute his set-projects for the zone.

The Thanksgiving Mass presided over by the Archbishop of Nnewi Catholic Diocese, Bishop Jonas Benson also has in attendance, the APGA National Chairman, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, Chief Aloysius Ikegwuonu (Bishop Ozubulu) and the traditional rulers of the seven council areas that constitute the Senatorial District.
