2027: Anambra APC inaugurates local government chapter chairmen

The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has sworn in newly elected 21 local government chairmen of the party in the state.

The swearing in ceremony took place at the state party’s headquarters in Awka on Monday, May 11th, 2026.

Speaking during the ceremony the state party Chairman, Senator Emmanuel Anosike, urged the chairmen to demonstrate diligence and commitment to the ideals of the party.

He called on members to be more united and shun divisive tendencies ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Anosike, who was represented by his vice, Chief J.C. Okeke, said the inauguration marked a critical step in strengthening the party’s organisational framework, especially, at the grassroot ahead of the 2027 Senate/ House Representative/State House of Assembly and for the future electoral engagements.

According to him, “We found you worthy to be elected to pilot the affairs of the party for the next four years. Your role is critical to the growth and consolidation of the party in Anambra State and Nigeria at large.

“We inaugurated them in accordance with the party’s constitution, so as to make it legal for them to operate and intensified mobilization campaign in their various council areas ahead of the 2027 elections.

“We have mandated them to go ahead and inaugurate their councils and wards excos respectively.

This inauguration is a big message to informed the state ruling-All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA led-government of governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo that APC is fully prepared for the 2027 Senatorial, House of Representative and State House of Assembly election across the three Senatorial zones of the State.

“The State Working Committee of APC in Anambra State under my watch is determined to win all the legislative seats in the state. With the inauguration today, our team is complete for the electoral struggle.

Anosike noted that the party’s success in Anambra State over the years was largely due to its strong grassroots network and urged the newly sworn-in Council Chairmen to sustain that tradition.

He said, “The responsibility before you is enormous. You must be diligent in the discharge of your duties and remain committed to the ideals of the party.”

The Chairman stressed the need for unity among party members, urging leaders and stakeholders to avoid actions that could create division within the party, now that elections are around the corner.

He also reiterated the party’s commitment to inclusive participation and grassroots development, noting that effective leadership at the ward and local government levels remained crucial to maintaining the APC’s political strength in Anambra State.
