Honourable Mrs Sandra Amaugo Mbaeyi, has vow to curb what she described as uncontrollable drug abuse, cultist practices among youths in Ihiala local government area of Anambra State, if allow to represent Ihiala one Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, ahead of 2027 general elections.
Mbaeyi, a serving Councillor of Ihite ward one at the council area, made the vow while addressing a press conference at her Ihiala residence on Sunday, April 12th, 2026 as part of activities ahead of her official declaration for the race.
She said she is contesting for the seat to make laws that will help address the above mentioned challenges in Ihiala communities and not to compete with anyone.

She noted that job creation, women empowerment, construction of internal roads and regular one on one youth engagement or symposium will be her major Legislative focused, if given the opportunity to represent the Constituency.
According to her, curbing drug abuse and cultism that due lead to security threat is not by bombing or killing those involved, but by ensuring that unemployed youths in the area have one or two things to do.
“If the youths are gainfully employed, they will not have the time to engage in unlawful acts.”
Drug abuse and cultism practices has become a major challenged in Ihiala local government area.
My representation will bring joy and happiness to the entire people of Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.
“If elected, I will constitute a door-door sensitization campaign committee to addressed the challenges.
“If elected, I would also provide funds for the serious-minded female farmers in my Constituency and the council area at large.
“I would conduct proper monitoring of my Constituency projects to ensure that it reaches both the rich and the poor respectively.
“Transparency and accountability will remain my Legislative watch words.
“I am contesting the election under the political platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, a great party, I and my late husband have served committed and dedicatedly since 2006 to compliment governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s efforts in the ongoing fight against cultism, drug abuse and other unrest in Ihiala and some trouble part of the State.
“My political record is clear that, since I join politics with APGA, I have never cross-carpet to another political party.
“I am a woman politician with integrity, residing here at the grassroot. I know what is lacking in Ihiala one Constituency and the council at large.
“I will not disappoint my family members, my constituent, my political leaders including our working governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Executive Chairman of Ihiala Council Area, Mr Anayochukwu Charles Orjiakor, Chief ABC Orjiakor, the member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency, Hon Paschal Agbodike, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, the Chairman of Anambra Local Government Service Commission, Chief Vincent Ezeaka and other strong supporters of APGA in my Constituency and the council as a whole, if given the chance to represent.
Mr Mbaeyi, appealed to the primary election delegates to vote wisely without fear or favour for the sake of fairness and equity during the voting process.
