2027: Orok Duke mobilizes support for Tinubu, Otu as he visits ward 11 Calabar South

The representative of Cross River State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Orok Duke, has urged members and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Ward 11, Calabar South Local Government Area, to sustain grassroots mobilisation and remain united ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Duke made the call during a solidarity and appreciation visit to the ward on May 25, 2026, where party faithful gathered to reaffirm support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bassey Edet Otu as APC standard bearers for the 2027 elections.

Addressing party members and stakeholders during the meeting held in Calabar, the NDDC board member commended Ward 11 members for what he described as their dedication and impressive performance during the party primaries.

He said the ward had continued to maintain a strong reputation for its numerical strength and political influence within Calabar South, stressing that such strength must be effectively harnessed to secure victory for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Duke urged party faithful to remain loyal to the APC and avoid anti-party activities, adding that members must support all candidates of the party irrespective of personal grievances or disagreements.

According to him, unity, commitment, and collective responsibility remain critical to the party’s electoral success in 2027.

He also expressed concern over what he described as declining morale among some party members and encouraged them to remain steadfast and active in party affairs.

“The political journey towards 2027 is far from over. Victory can only be secured through sustained commitment, grassroots mobilisation, and active participation at the polls,” he said.

Describing Ward 11 as the political backbone of Calabar South, Duke appreciated party faithful for their continued loyalty and confidence in the leadership of Tinubu and Governor Otu.

As part of the visit, the APC chieftain donated N1.3 million to members of the ward in appreciation of their support and dedication to the party.

The gathering also featured goodwill messages from party leaders and stakeholders, including the APC House of Assembly candidate for Calabar South Constituency II, Majorie Asuquo, and Shepherd Victor Ebong.

The Ward Chairman, Elder Abia Inyang, delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of party members.
