In a grand display of unity and gratitude, the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Awka, on Sunday was filled to capacity as Governor Chukwuma Soludo led the state in an inter-denominational thanksgiving service.
The event, themed “Leading with Wisdom and Integrity,” marked the conclusion of the Governor’s first four-year term and served as a spiritual precursor to his second-term inauguration scheduled for March 17, 2026.
The service brought together a diverse assembly of religious leaders from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), and the Catholic and Anglican communions, as the atmosphere was one of solemn reflection and vibrant celebration, while various choir groups offered songs of praise for the “Solution” administration’s journey so far.

In his address, Governor Soludo, accompanied by his wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, expressed deep gratitude to the people of Anambra for their resilience and support, while also acknowledging the hand of God that has guided them through every challenge.
Speaking on the central message of the gathering, which is ecumenism, the Governor assured that he would continue developing Anambra and the society, not by seeing people through their colour or the way they worship, but by the measure of value they bring on board.
The sermon, delivered by a panel of prominent clerics, including the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, and the Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Alexander Ibezim, highlighted the Governor’s focus on human capital development and infrastructure, and reminded him of the place of integrity in leadership even when it is difficult, noting that praising God invites divine guidance in leadership.
The service concluded with special prayers for the state’s continued peace and the Governor’s vision for the next four years.
As the state prepares for the official swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the thanksgiving service at the ICC has set a tone of high expectations.
In an interview with Journalists, the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Emmanuel Nwachukwu, commended the governor for his excellence performance in his first term in office.
He urged the governor to sustain the performance as he begins his second term March 17, 2026.
