In their unanimous bid to ensure that the candidate of the African Democratic Congress ADC for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwisigo Federal Constituency, Hon Kingsley Obiukwu emerges the winner in the 2027 general elections, major political stakeholders across Nnewi communities, has vowed to mobilized 95 per cent of the votes to the candidate to enable him replaced late Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah’s philanthropist’s vacuum in the industrial city of the State and the Constituency at large.
The stakeholders argued that since the sudden demise of Ubah, Obiukwu has been the only person silently sustaining the humanitarian gesture the late Senator have established in the minds of Nnewi residents both indigenes and non-indigene alike, hence their decision to support and ensure he wins and represent the Constituency at the green chamber of the National Assembly Abuja come 2027.
Their decision was made known by a Chieftain of the party and a community leader, Chief Izuchukwu Odum (Zaki) during an interview with Journalists shortly after endorsing Obiukwu for the reps seat at Umudim-Nnewi Ward 1-2 secretariat in Nnewi, on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

Recall that late Senator Ubah, a notable philanthropists cum politician who then, represented Anambra South Senatorial District at the Upper Legislative Chamber of National Assembly Abuja, died in active service at age 52 after a brief illness in London.
Speaking further, Chief Odum said we are supporting Hon Obiukwu to enable him sustained the philanthropical gesture late Ifeamyi Ubah has established in the area and to pay back what the ADC candidate father has also done to the development of Nnewi.
“It will be unfair, if the people of Nnewi as a whole didn’t throw their weight behind Obiukwu candidacy in the race.
“Even before he venture into politics, Hon Kingsley Obiukwu has been of assistance to uncountable vulnerable residents across Nnewi communities and the constituency as a whole through his Foundation. He is a well-known household philanthropists per excellent.
“Obiukwu is a good person. He has been so entrepreneur to the young ones. He is a God fearing person with undiluted reputation.
“Our unanimous decision is to vote for personality and not for a political party.
“We are supporting Obiukwu for his continue commitment and dedication towards the development of the 42 political wards that constitute Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency.
“His long time humanitarian assistance has place him higher above other contesters.
“He remains the only candidate who will lobby and attract federal presence to the Constituency, if given the opportunity to represent,” Odum advocated.
He pledged to provide his vehicle ahead of Obiukwu’s general campaign.
The ADC candidate, while appreciating Chief Odum and other members of the two wards for endorsing him, promised to legislate laws that will attract more patronage to the commercial city and also to ensure Nnewi becomes one of the biggest industrial hub in Africa.
He equally vowed to work and work and work until an average person in Nnewi North, South and Ekwisigo Federal Constituency have at least two square meal per day, if voted into power come January 16th, 2027 general elections.
The candidate also visit the Holy Family Hospital and Maternity Ihemosi in Ekwisigo Local Government Area, where he offset medical bills for patients receiving treatment at the health facility.
