Youths under the umbrella of Adazi-Enu Youth Assembly, in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, has held a solidarity rally in support of governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s victory against 40-year agitation for the creation of autonomous community in the area and other part of the State.
The rally took place at the Enugwu village square on Saturday, June 27th, 2026.
The rally was to express their support for the decision, as well as show gratitude to the governor for putting an end to the age-long system.
The agitation for the system according to the youth brought a serious socio-economic stagnation, disunity and division among youths women, kindreds and even Churches, which is why we are all gathered here in solidarity with the executive of Enugwu village headed by Barrister Jideofor Okongwu to expressed our happiness and to celebrate the returned of peace to the area.

Recall that Governor Soludo, had last Month declared that autonomous communities in Anambra State will no longer exist, following what he described as a final resolution of a long-standing legal battle that had moved from the Court of Appeal to the Supreme Court.
In a video clip that circulated online, the governor addressed the issue of community autonomy in Anambra State.
In the video, Soludo said the Supreme Court judgment has effectively settled the matter, describing it as having “buried” the issue of autonomous communities in Anambra State.
Speaking further, the leader of Adazi-Enu Youth Assembly, Comrade Okpala Chidozie Arinze while addressing the gathering, said the victory has restored togetherness, peace, unity and progress to the village, Adazi-Enu community, Anaocha Local Government and the state as a whole.
According to him, the rally/celebration is to expressed our support for the decision, as well as show gratitude to the governor for putting an end to the age-long system.
“We are very happy because peace has finally returned to our land. The solidarity movement here today, is a called for all aggrieved members of the village to reunite back as one family for the sake of peace and development. We want the 40-year lost glory of this land back.
“The visit was organized to promote peace, unity brotherhood and a peaceful co-existence among Enugwu village and five others villages that constitute Adazi-Enu community Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
“It’s a peaceful gathering aimed at strengthening our common identity as one Adazi-Enu people, encouraging mutual respect and support lasting harmony throughout our community.
“It’s high time we keep side issue of creation of autonomous community in our progressive land.
“Adazi-Enu Youth Assembly under my able watch demands for a return of total peace and unity in Enugwu village,” the youth leader advocated.
In his appreciation speech, the Chairman of Enugwu village, Barrister Okongwu commended the youth for their solidarity, assuring that the executive of the village under his leadership will continue to support them in all ramifications.
He also commented governor Soludo for his community development strides, noting that the governor is meeting the expectations of Anambra people.
The event also featured presentation of he-sheep to Barrister Okongwu in appreciation for his exemplary leadership and the display of masquerades.
