The Southern Senatorial District Leadership Forum of the All Progressives Congress, APC headed by Barr. Eyo Nsa Ekpo, has completed screening of aspirants ahead of the 2027 elections.
The weeklong exercise, described by aspirants and observers as Transparent and thorough, involved assessment of relevant documents such as educational certificates, evidence of party membership and other requirements expected from all aspirants.
Speaking on the sidelines of the exercise, aspirants expressed satisfaction and optimism, noting that the process allowed all irrespective of status, to be vetted and assessed based on the guidelines of the party and the electoral laws.

Some of the aspirants commended the team for their hard work and the initiative of a decentralized screening of aspirants, which according to them, has drastically reduced stress and the cost of bringing everyone together for the centralized screening.
The Chairman of the Forum, Barr. Eyo Nsa, equally commended the aspirants for their patience and good conduct which enabled a seamless and peaceful exercise. He further called on the aspirants and their supporters, to engage in civil politicking.
The decentralized screening is an initiative of the party in the state to provide an equal level playing ground for all aspirants. It was held simultaneously across the three Senatorial districts of the state.
As the party gears towards the primaries, there is optimism that the processes, which have been digitalized and innovative, is move away from the traditional way of conducting party primaries.
