True leadership is demonstrated not only by words, but by showing up when the people need help the most.
The Biase Rescue Movement (BRM), an APC support group from Biase Local Government Area, Cross River State, led by its Director General, visited flood-affected communities in Umon South to commiserate with affected families and extend a helping hand during this difficult period.

The situation on the ground is deeply concerning. Homes have been submerged, compounds overtaken by floodwater, children and families displaced from their normal living spaces, and livelihoods severely disrupted. The scale of the devastation underscores the urgent need for collective action and humanitarian intervention.
In keeping with BRM’s commitment to rescue, restore, and give hope, the team presented relief materials, including bags of rice, garri, and other essential food items, to community leaders on behalf of the Movement for onward support to affected residents.
Speaking during the visit, the Director General Cmr Solomon James, reaffirmed that BRM’s commitment to the people of Biase goes beyond political activities. He emphasized the importance of standing together in times of hardship and assured the affected communities that their concerns would not be ignored. He also appealed to the government, corporate organisations, and well-meaning individuals to support ongoing efforts to alleviate the suffering of the people of Umon South.
As part of the visit, the BRM team travelled by boat to access affected areas and assess the extent of the damage caused by the rising floodwaters. This firsthand assessment offered a clearer picture of the challenges confronting affected families and the need for sustained assistance.
Community leaders and residents expressed appreciation for the gesture of solidarity and practical support at a time when many families are struggling to cope with the disaster.
BRM is an APC support group, an its humanitarian commitment reflects the importance of compassion, solidarity, and service to the people, especially during moments of crisis.
