The Cross River State Consultative Forum (CRSCF) has applauded the Presidency and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following key appointments into the party’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

In a statement released in Calabar on Monday and jointly signed by the Forum’s Chairman, Barr. Eyo Nsa Ekpo and the Secretary Dr. Julius Ochim Okputu, it expressed strong support for the appointments of former Zamfara State Governor Senator Abdulaziz Yari; Cross River State Governor, Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and former Senator, Florence Ita-Giwa.

The group commended the selection of Senator Abdulaziz Yari as the Director-General of the Campaign Council, recognizing his organizational capacity and dedication to the progressive agenda as critical assets for driving the party’s campaign.

The forum also celebrated the appointment of Governor Bassey Otu as the South-South Zonal Campaign Coordinator, stating that as the first elected APC Governor in the geopolitical zone, Otu’s role in expanding the party’s influence across the region and leading successful campaign initiatives in neighboring states like Edo and Imo cannot be overemphasized.

Additionally, the CRSCF welcomed the inclusion of elder stateswoman Senator Florence Ita-Giwa as a member of the Chairman’s Advisory Body. It cited her extensive legislative background and long-standing advocacy for the Niger Delta region as invaluable resources for the national advisory team.

Describing the appointments as a collective honour for Cross River, the forum pledged its full alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and the campaign hierarchy. The Forum also reaffirmed its commitment to organizing local support to ensure a successful performance for the APC in the 2027 general elections.
