A notable philanthropist and the founder of Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (SEOF), Emeka Offor, has gave out over 6000 bags of 50 kilogrammes of long-grain rice to over 3000 indigent widows of Oraifite community in Ekwisigo local government area of Anambra State.
The distribution exercise took place at the Foundation’s warehouse along the Onitsha-Owerri expressway Oraifite, on Sunday, August 23rd, 2026.
In his welcome address, Sir Offor, said his donation of food to indigents of is to ensure that those who do not have share what those who do can afford.

“I am delighted to be here today as we once again extend a hand of support and compassion to our mothers, sisters and widows in our communities.
“The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation believes that we do not need to have everything before we can make a difference in the life of another person.
“Sometimes, what may appear modest to us can mean a great deal to a family in need.
“Today, the Foundation is once again putting this belief into action with the distribution of over 6,000 bags of 50kg long grain rice to more than 3,000 indigent widows in Oraifite community.
“I am pleased to announce that each widow will be going home with two (2) 50kg bags of rice.
“This is our modest contribution towards supporting our widows and ensuring that they too can share in the joy and spirit of this season, particularly as we have celebrated the Afiolu Festival.
“Afiolu is more than a festival. It is a celebration of our heritage, culture and the bonds that unite us as a people. It is fitting at such occasion that we also remember those who may not have the means to celebrate as they would wish and lend support.
“For us at the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation, humanitarian intervention is about putting people first, recognising vulnerability, responding where we can and restoring dignity and hope to those who need it.
“To our beneficiaries, this gesture comes with love and genuine concern.
“We consider you an important part of our community and are pleased to share this moment with you.
The philanthropist why praying to God to continue to bless the people of Oraifite communities, Anambra State, the federal Republic of Nigeria and the Foundation to touch more lives, equally appeal to the beneficiaries to continue to support the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo in prayers to enable them succeed.
Earlier, in his remark, the State governor, Chukwuma Soludo, extolled the virtues of Offor, describing him as the highest humanitarian service provider in Anambra State and beyond.
The governor was represented at the event by the State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Esther Onyekesi
Other attendance include, the traditional ruler of Oraifite community, HRH Igwe Daniel Odoji, the Foundation coordinator, Chief Tony Obi, and thousands of community members.
