Gov Soludo nominates 18 new commissioners in Anambra

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has forwarded 18 commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly, virtually two months in office.

The former Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor returns as Information and Value Reformation, same with former Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Ben Obidike, Commissioner for Lands, Prof Offonze Amucheazi and Youth Development and Sports — Hon Patrick Agha Mba

The new nominees are, former local government Area Chairman of Ayamelum, Chief Ugoji Amedu for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism and Dr Clem Aguiyi of Dunukofia for Environment.

Others are, Agriculture — Dr. Ben Chuks Odoemena, Budget and Economic Planning— Mr. Chukwukadibia Okoye, Education — Dr. Ekene Ogugua
Finance — Mr. Izuchukwu M. Okafor.

Also nominated are Justice and Attorney-General — Barr. Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN, Local Government and Community Affairs— Barr. Vin Ezeaka, Petroleum and Mineral Resources — Prof. Charles Ofoegbu

Others are Physical Planning and Urban Development — Barr. Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu, Power — Engr. Casmir Chinenye Agummadu, Works and Infrastructure — Arc. Okey Ezeobi, Transport — Hon. Eddy Ibuzo as well as Women Affairs and Social Development — Mrs. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi.

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze received the list Tuesday during plenary.

The list, according to him, is the first batch of Commissioner nominees from Mr. Governor for confirmation.

As a result, the Speaker has thus referred the names to the Committee on Screening And Election Matters.
