The good people of Nsugbe Orula in Anambra East local government area of Anambra State are calling the entire Nigerians to hold Anambra state government, Anambra East Local Government, the State Attorney general, Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN and his elder brother Nzekwesi Nweke, whom they are trying to install as the Igwe of Nsugbe at all cost despite the court order restraining any party from holding election of Igwe in Nsugbe Kingdom.
Comrade Obiagwu Christopher Ikechukwu, Chairman of Nsugbe Development Union (NDU) Abata branch, who made the called in a statement he personally signed and made available to Journalists in Awka on Sunday, passionately appealed to the State governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo to urgently intervene to avoid break down of law and order in the community.
According to him, the commissioner of local government and community Affairs, Vin Ifeanyi Ezeaka Esq, who despite the court order suspended the elected president general of Nsugbe for 3 months and erroneously appointed a 5 man caretaker committee in his letter dated 24th August 2024, suddenly the caretaker committee made an announcement today 29th August for Igweship election to be conducted on Sunday 30th August 2026.
“Any attempt arising from this, the blame must be as the result of their disobedience to the court order.
“The desperate move from the above parties to install Nzekwesi Nweke the senior brother to the Attorney general is a great issue of concern.
“The community must resist the attempt at all costs to prevent the day’s light robbery, Ikechukwu lamented.
Attempt to speak with the State Commissioner for local government and community Affairs, Vin Ifeanyi Ezeaka Esq, via telephone on the development prove abortive as his phone number was not reachable as at the time of filing this report.
