A traditionalist identified as Ozoekwe Ezeudu has reportedly died after allegedly stabbing his wife multiple times and ingesting a pesticide in Mgbakwu, Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The incident, which reportedly occurred around 10 p.m. on Friday, left his wife seriously injured and residents of the community in shock.
According to an eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity, Ezeudu had earlier contacted some friends and allegedly threatened to kill himself and his wife, although he did not disclose the reason for the threat.

One of the friends was said to have alerted the wife, but she reportedly dismissed the warning, believing her husband would not carry out the threat.
The eyewitness alleged that Ezeudu later attacked his wife with a knife, stabbing her in the neck and twice around the waist.
Their children, who were reportedly sleeping downstairs, rushed to the scene and attempted to intervene after hearing about the attack.
The source further claimed that Ezeudu, apparently believing that his wife had died from her injuries, locked himself inside a room and ingested Sniper, a pesticide.
He was subsequently reported dead, while his injured wife was rushed to a hospital for medical treatment. Her condition at the time of filing this report was not immediately known.
Ezeudu, from Akamanato village in Mgbakwu, reportedly had eight children with his wife and had recently married a second wife.
