The event commenced with the arrival of the NYSC Anambra State Coordinator, Mrs. Pauline Ojisua, who was accorded a ceremonial Quarter Guard honour by members of the Camp Security and Man O’ War personnel. She thereafter inspected the Guard mounted at the parade ground before witnessing an impressive display of military drills, including quick march and slow march, by Corps Members, reflecting the discipline and physical training acquired during the three-week orientation exercise.

She commended the Corps Members for their discipline, patriotism, enthusiasm and cooperation, noting that their positive conduct contributed significantly to the overall success of the programme.

The State Coordinator urged the Corps Members to uphold the ideals and core values of the NYSC Scheme as they proceed to their various Places of Primary Assignment (PPAs). She advised them to remain law-abiding, disciplined and security-conscious throughout their service year, stressing the Scheme’s prohibition of unauthorized and night travel.

Mrs. Ojisua also encouraged the Corps Members to take full advantage of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to acquire practical entrepreneurial skills that would promote self-reliance beyond the service year. She further charged them to participate actively in Community Development Service (CDS), initiate impactful community projects and distinguish themselves through diligence, innovation and exemplary conduct at their places of primary assignment.

The State Coordinator expressed profound appreciation, on behalf of the Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, to the Government and people of Anambra State under the leadership of His Excellency, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, for their unwavering support to the Scheme. She also appreciated the traditional rulers and residents of Umuawulu and Mbaukwu communities for their hospitality throughout the orientation programme.

She equally commended camp officials, collaborating agencies, security personnel, healthcare providers, resource persons, volunteers, the media and other stakeholders whose dedication ensured the successful conduct of the Orientation Course.

Mrs. Ojisua encouraged the Corps Members to be worthy ambassadors of the NYSC by promoting national unity, peaceful coexistence and selfless service wherever they are deployed.

The ceremony climaxed with the official declaration of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation Course in Anambra State closed on behalf of the Director-General of the NYSC. Corps Members were thereafter issued their posting letters to their respective Places of Primary Assignment, marking the commencement of the next phase of their national service.
