2027 Anambra House of Reps aspirant bags award of excellence in humanitarian service

In recognition of his philanthropists service to vulnerable residents of Anambra State, a Journalist and the Editorial Board Chairman of Obev Industries Limited Port Harcourt, River State, (the Publisher of Freenews Magazine), Mr Obinna Evaristus Mbonu, has presented an award of excellence in humanitarian service to the 2027 House of Representative aspirant for Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha Federal Constituency, Barrister Marshal Nnaemeka Chisom Ugha.

During an interactive session with Journalists after meeting with the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA executives from the 14 political wards that constitute Dunukofia local government area of the State/the award presentation, tagged; “Ambassador of Democracy and Good Governance” at the Council Secretariat Ukpo, on Friday, the aspirant who appreciated the gesture described the award as the first of its kind in his consultation tour, urging the company to improve on reporting the state government projects and programs for the people of Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency and the state at large.

He said that the media is one of the organs promoting democracy and good governance to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people in the state, adding, that democracy cannot work without the effort of the media as the mechanism for feedback.

As Anambra State moves to the recovery process, the aspirant aspirant urges Journalists to continue to keep people informed about the state government projects that have a positive impact on them such as Environmental cleanness, health care service delivery, education, portable drinking water, electricity, markets, and among others, assuring that governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo-led Anambra government would continue to do it best to ensure that the dividends of democracy get to every citizen of the state.

He promised to provide quality representation, if given the opportunity to represent the Constituency at the green chamber of the National Assembly Abuja come 2027.

He appealed to Journalists in the state to adhere to the ethics of the profession by disseminating accurate information to the public.

In his speech, while presenting the award, the Editorial Board Chairman, Mr. Mbonu, said it is part of the duties of the media to defend democracy and to ensure that political leaders deliver on promises made to the masses.

Mbonu urged him to keep up the good work, calling on other well-to-do individuals in the state to emulate him in driving humanitarian services which is in line with the policies and programmes of the Soludo administration.

In his brief remark, the Council Chairman, Barrister Chijioke Ozumba, applauded the management of Freenews Magazine, for recognising Barrister Marshal’s kind gesture towards the less privilege ones in Anambra State.

He urged members of APGA in the council area to support his aspiration.
