Anago launches construction of classroom block to boost education in Awka North

The Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon ThankGod Chibuike Anago has officially inaugurated a modern reconstructed and refurbished classroom blocks at the Community Secondary School (CSS), Awba-Ofemili, in the council area.

The blocked houses a befitting examination hall, administrative office for the Principal, and Science Laboratory respectively.

According to the council chairman, while addressing the people of Awba-Ofemili community, the project was executed under his Olu Obodo mantra for a better Awka North and to boost education in the area.

He said the initiative aims to enhance access to quality education for children within the Community.

He underscored the project as a clear demonstration of his administration’s steadfast commitment to advancing education in the LGA.

He emphasized that education remains the cornerstone of every progressive society and that investment on improved learning infrastructure is essential to creating a conducive environment for both pupils and teachers.

The Council Chairman reaffirmed that the new school block is a key component of his broader agenda to strengthen the Education Sector and alleviate overcrowding in existing classrooms. In his words, “Education is a top priority for my administration. We plan to implement numerous developmental projects across various communities within the LGA to enhance educational facilities and increase access to quality learning.”

“This special intervention represents another significant milestone in my administration’s unwavering commitment to providing quality education and creating a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning. Education remains the strongest foundation upon which every prosperous society is built, and this project is a clear demonstration that investing in education is investing in the future of Awka North, in line with the vision of His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, for free and quality education.

“I urge our students to remain focused, study diligently, respect their teachers and school authorities, and strive for excellence in all their academic pursuits.

“I also call on the school management, parents, and the entire Awba-Ofemili community to take collective ownership of these facilities by ensuring their proper maintenance and protection.

“Public infrastructure belongs to all of us, and preserving it is a shared responsibility.

“Our Olu Obodo administration remains resolute, not only in providing a conducive teaching and learning environment but also in delivering people-oriented projects and creating opportunities that will improve the well-being of every resident of Awka North Local Government Area.

Anago further asserted that the project will instill a sense of pride and motivation in the pupils to excel academically. He noted that the construction will generate employment opportunities for local residents.

A resident of the benefiting community, Mrs Janet Chukwudi, expressed gratitude to the Chairman and welcomed the development as a significant step toward a brighter future for the grassroot children.

She stated, “We believe that the Chairman’s efforts will not only improve education quality, but also attract greater investment and opportunities to our area. We pray for God’s strength to enable him complete the great job he is doing in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State.”
