As the World celebrate this year 2026 World Brain Day, Wife of the Anambra State governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has urged Nigerians to adopt healthier lifestyles, noting that maintaining a healthy brain is essential to achieving overall wellbeing.
Mrs Soludo who is also the founder of the non-governmental organisation, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, made the call in a statement issued to Journalists in Awka on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2026.
She said practices such as eating nutritious meals, engaging in regular physical activities, getting adequate sleep, continuous learning and prioritising mental wellness could help protect brain health.

According to her, individuals should pay greater attention to their mental wellbeing and reduce the risk of neurological disorders through healthy habits, including exercise, proper sleep and managing cardiovascular risks.
She said, “As we commemorate ‘World Brain Day’ today, it’s crucial to remember that a healthy brain is the foundation of a sound and healthy life.
“By embracing good nutrition, regular physical activity, quality sleep, lifelong learning, and mental wellness, we can protect one of God’s greatest gifts.
“Let’s nurture our minds, support one another, and build a healthier, more productive society, the Anambra first lady concluded.
World Brain Day is observed annually on July 22 and was established by the World Federation of Neurology to raise awareness about neurological disorders and promote access to brain health services.
This year’s campaign focuses on making brain healthcare accessible to all, regardless of social or economic background, while encouraging early detection, timely diagnosis and proper care to help preserve independence among people affected by neurological conditions.
