ASHIA begins intensive enrollment campaign across Anambra communities, markets, churches

The Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), is set to commence an intensive enrollment campaign across communities, markets and churches across the state.

The State Executive Officer of the Agency, Dr Ezeaka Augustine Uwuaeme, disclosed this during a one-day familiarization/interactive session between Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officers of ASHIA and ASHIA Accredited Health Care Providers, held at the IDK conference hall in Awka, on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026.

Uwuaeme said the campaign aimed at educating Anambra residents on the importance of being part of the free healthcare services the present administration of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo is offering and to let them know that the enrollment premium still pegged at N12,000 per year as directed by the governor.

“We are taking the campaign to markets, churches, schools and communities across the state to enlighten those that have not enrolled to know the benefits of the state health insurance agency, to let them know that it reducing healthcare costs and to also share the Agency’s emergency phone numbers in case of emergency.

“We are going to partner with politicians to persuade them to enrolled their constituents.

The agency under my watch will establish offices across markets in the state.

“My administration will ensure every resident is enrolled into ASHIA.

“This interactive session is also to familiarized with all the ASHIA accredited health care providers in the state and to build their confidence in the system.

“We are using this meeting to encourage them to stand firm and avoid sharp practices that may tarnished the reputation of the agency.

“I am assuring the caregivers of the Agency’s total and friendly collaboration to enable us meet up governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s vision of a livable and prosperous state in Nigeria.

“I urged the already enrolled beneficiaries to seek treatment from authorized healthcare facilities and avoid unprescribed medications from unlicensed practitioners operating in the state.

The ASHIA boss highlighted the Agency’s goal to ensuring that every Anambra residents irrespective of tribe, ethnic and religion affiliations including the less privileged, have access to quality healthcare services without the burden of exorbitant hospital bills.
