Four Wards in Ikom II Back Speaker Ayambem for Third Term

Leaders and stakeholders from the four wards of Ikom II State Constituency, Nnam, Abanyom, Nta Nselle, and Nde, have unanimously endorsed the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, as their sole candidate for a third term.

The decision was reached after what the leaders described as extensive consultations and a careful review of the constituency’s political and developmental progress under Ayambem’s representation.

In a communiqué issued at the end of their meeting, the stakeholders said the endorsement reflects the collective will of the people across the four wards, anchored on what they termed “verifiable performance, tested leadership, and visible impact.”

They commended Ayambem for providing effective and people-oriented representation, noting that his tenure has been marked by accessibility, responsiveness, and tangible results that have positively affected constituents.

The leaders pointed to what they described as a strong development footprint across Ikom II, citing improvements in infrastructure, social services, and economic initiatives that have contributed to raising the standard of living in the area.

They also emphasized his role as a unifying figure within the Bakor nation, adding that his influence continues to strengthen the political and cultural identity of the constituency at the state level.

On legislative capacity, the stakeholders noted that his experience and current position place him in a strategic position to attract more opportunities and influence policies that directly benefit Ikom II.

The communiqué further highlighted his alignment with the administration of Governor Bassey Edet Otu, which they said has facilitated increased government presence and impactful projects in the constituency.

Reaffirming their position, the leaders declared Ayambem as the only credible choice for the seat and called on party faithful and residents of Ikom II to rally behind him in the interest of unity, continuity, and sustained development.
