Primaries: Queue behind me, APGA aspirant begs Onitsha South Constituency 1 supporters

Ahead of option A-4 primary election method of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, an aspirant for the Onitsha South Constituency 1 in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Sylvester Emeka Okafor, has begged party supporters in the constituency to queue behind him during the exercise billed for May 23rd, 2026.

Okafor who made the plead while speaking to Journalists shortly after successfully scaling through the party’s screening at the APGA Regional Headquarters Awka, on Tuesday, pledged to deliver effective and people-oriented representation, if elected.

He said his ambition was driven by a desire to bring meaningful development to Onitsha South one constituency.

He said, “This is not just ambition – this is a mission. Our constituency, Onitsha South one, deserves better. We deserve real development, real empowerment and real representation—not promises.”

He called on party members to support his bid, assuring them of his readiness to justify their confidence if elected come 2027 general elections.

He added, “I am asking for your full support because I am ready to deliver. We all saw what happened in the last House of Assembly election. The opposition, (Labour Party) took advantage. That must not happen again. This time, we must get it right through me and I am ready to lead that victory for APGA.

Okafor promised to build on past efforts while expanding opportunities for residents of the constituency.

“Under my watch, “Our youths will have various development opportunities, our women will be empowered and our people will feel the impact of the government.

He outlined key priority areas of his agenda to include youth empowerment, women inclusion, infrastructure development, accessible representation and party unity.

The APGA aspirant described the screening exercise as united, peacefully, credible and transparent.
